Photography is something which has appealed to me from an early age. It sounds cliché but what interests me most is the fact that a picture Can Tell a Thousand Words. For me photography is much more than simply capturing a subject, it is about telling a story, preserving a memories or capturing a specific emotion.
Throughout high school I incorporated the use of photographs into my art projects and used them as an influence for textiles projects. While looking into college courses, carrying out an A-level in photography was an easy choice! After completing the course, my passion for photography had only increased so I progress onto university course: BA (hons) Photography, a three year course at The University of Bolton. The course really allowed me to broaden my knowledge while allowing me to develop my own style and approach, making me the photographer I am today.
In regards to subject matter I enjoy working with a range of subjects from still life, to landscapes and portraiture. Versatility is something which appeals and each of these presents a new challenge, helping me to continually grow and develop my skills. I would describe myself as being a commercial photographer in that I enjoy producing images which contain a creative aspect.
